Guest guest
My husband has esld and 2 weeks ago his only kidney went down to 5% so he ended up on dialysis. During his stay Dr's ran all kinds of tests and did most of the required procedures to get his name on the donor list. He has a few more things to do and then the transplant cordinator will submit his name to Portland Or. We live in Az but OR is where the va transplants are done. So I just pray his liver doesn't totally quit. My question is what should I look for to know if that is happening? Is that the bleed out? What can I look for that leads up to that point? Today he had another 8 liters removed as the dialysis didn't work as they had hoped to help eliminated the fluids. Thank God the va will pay for me to fly with him for the interview and pay for hotel just no food. Thanks for any help. Bonnie
Guest guest
Would they happen to have a Fisher House close by where you could stay? Those are wonderful. I stayed in one for 2 weeks in MN when my husband had his heart surgery and we were acouple states away. They had a kitchen stocked with foods for everyone to eat. And a lady volunteer even came in and cooked for us each day..Like a big crock pot full of soup, etc. You get your own private bedroom and bath. Not sure which states they are located in.  Subject: New to posting To: livercirrhosissupport Date: Friday, April 13, 2012, 8:26 PM  My husband has esld and 2 weeks ago his only kidney went down to 5% so he ended up on dialysis. Guest guest
I'm sorry about your husband. I hope he gets placed in the transplant list soon, and he receives a liver quickly. Things to look for, that, my dear, i think is hard to answer because it is varied from person to person. I know that not everyone bleeds out. The things i noticed about my husband were the week before he passed, he was more alert, more energetic, less confused, he ate more than i had seen him do in, well i can't even remember how long. He, from a outsiders standpoint, would have appeared to be getting better. which i think makes things that much more confusing. He was more willing and wanting to get up and move, have visitors. He even said " I feel better " . That lasted for about 5 days i think. Then he went back to being tired, lethargic, not eating, confused, lost the mobility again..... I hope this bit of information helps. Kim > > My husband has esld and 2 weeks ago his only kidney went down to 5% so he ended up on dialysis.
