Guest guest
Hi Danny...I was diagnosed with Liver Disease/Cirrhosis on Sept 15, 2011 stage 2 possibly stage 3. I was told about Milk Thisle and have been taking it the very same week as my diagnoses. I work full time (8 to 5 Monday thru Friday) and feel good. I don't have the energy I had when I was younger so that I blame on being in my 50's. I recommend it to everyone. My Doctor has approved it for me so I can take as much as 4 capsules a day...but I tend to forget and take it only in the early morning and before I go to bed. Try it and see what you think. I was told by another individual that it grows new liver cells. What truth behind that...I don't know but I have a bit more energy in my step. Let us know how you feel after taking it.  ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Wednesday, March 7, 2012 4:09 PM Subject: Re: MILK THISLE  Hi Danny my name is Ron, I been on milk thisle for about 2 years now , I am at esld but still working also and feel good. Guest guest
Careful with this - if you're allergic to certain types of ragweed or dandelion, you could have a bad reaction! That's what I've read/been told by a few folks. Not 100% sure if that's right, but it mights some sense. Just be careful!  Sincerely, E. Guest guest
Everyone is different as we are finding out. I have an allergy to ragweed but I can take Milk thistle without a problem. My Hepatologist told me to go ahead and take it that it wouldn't hurt me. Maybe because at this point, there is nothing he can give me to fight the virus. I tried the SOC and had to go off. I also have a friend who has NASH and she is taking Milk thistle as well.  All we are doing is to protect the liver cells from being destroyed. I would suggest you do what your doctor said. ________________________________ To: liver cirrhosis support <livercirrhosissupport > Sent: Thursday, March 8, 2012 12:38:03 PM Subject: RE: Re: MILK THISLE  My doc said No do not take milk thistle Annie > To: livercirrhosissupport > From: rebassett81@... > Date: Wed, 7 Mar 2012 17:05:48 -0800 > Subject: Re: Re: MILK THISLE > > Careful with this - if you're allergic to certain types of ragweed or dandelion, you could have a bad reaction! Guest guest
I have allergies to rag weed but never has the Milk thistle botheredme and I have been taking it for over two years. Z Sent from my iPad My husbands Dr. said that milk thistle would not hurt the liver. He says that he doesn't know if it helps, but it won't hurt. And I personally believe it anything is worth a shot. While my husband was taking it, his enzymes were the best they had been since he was diagnosed. He has since decided to stop takin most meds and is now on hospice. I suggest researching milk thistle. I found the information very useful. It's been used forever in other countries for the treatment of liver diseases. I happen to be very big into herbalism myself. Wishing you the best, Kim. > > >> > > >> Hello!! > > >> > > >> I am 47 years old And I was diagnose with NASH and now have cirrosis my doctor advised me that I M > > >> in a very early stage...I current see a hepatogist in Mobile and he is taking very good care of me,,so far. > > >> My question is does MILK THISLE actually help this disease. Guest guest
A great number of folks who are suffering with any liver disease seem to reach for the Milk Thistle. Since I had been taking it before I even learned I had Hep C, I wasn't in a hurry to replenish my supply. However, as the Dr said - at least it is a herb that does not harm the liver. ________________________________  I have allergies to rag weed but never has the Milk thistle botheredme and I have been taking it for over two years.
