Guest guest
Hello Jo Ann The French Wikipedia article on Bolus at http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bolus has a section on etymology: Le mot bol provient du latin médical bolus, lui-même du grec βόλος (bôlos), qui signifie littéralement motte de terre. Perhaps that's the clue. I found this: Figure 8 : IRM, coupes axiales. Après injection de chélate de gadolinium intraveineux. Cinétique de rehaussement typique des angiomes : prise de contraste périphérique en mottes, puis rehaussement progressif centripète de la lésion. Axial MRI slices after intravenous gadolinium injections. Typical enhancement pattern for angiomas: spotted peripheral uptake followed by progressive centripetal enhancement. at http://www.em-consulte.com/en/article/173779/iconosup HTH
