Guest guest
Hi, I don't think I am an old hand at it but I have been where you are. Medications all depend on where your Doctor thinks you are. If you have been diagnosed with RA, I hope you have a doctor who will go after it and not sit back and say we'll wait and see. There are so many medications today that will help you. At least keep the disfigurations to a minimum if any. I take Methotrexate and Remicade for my RA. They help some with the pain but it never really goes away. It is tolerable though and I can live. I don't work but I don't get disability either. I am medically retired from the USAF but financially it is difficult. My husband is very understanding but he still thinks I should be able to do it all. I look the same as before I was sick. I don't think anyone except someone who is in the same shoes I am can really know how I feel. I have had 6 operations in the past 5 years - some for my RA and some because of damage that it caused but they don't say that. I just live it day by day now. I don't ask for much and I don't expect much. The less you expect the more you can handle what you have. This is a great support group and their is fantastic information here. Lots of prayers and friendly people. God bless, Althea
