Guest guest
Hello Everyone: First I would like to thank everyone for the wonderful support I have gotten. I actually went to a gyn for the first time since last December & talking to the women on this board & the embo board helped give me the nerve to actually go thru with the visit. Now for the fun part. That f@# & ing valium tablet I was counting on to get me thru the exam never did kick in.Maybe I needed a double dose. A nurse stayed in the room with me, but the actual exam was still quite painful even though the doctor tried to be gentle. I'm still having discomfort tonight. And even though the overall volume of my uterus has gone down quite a bit, there is still no way in Hell a normal pelvic exam or D & C could be performed on me. Good thing I just traveled to Little Rock instead of all the way to Florida, huh? He did take a sample of the discharge and believe me, he had plenty to work with!!!!!After looking at the yuck under the microscope, he thinks the yucky stuff sluffing fm the fibroid could be the cause of the infection. He also thinks there might also be an abcess on the fibroid itself. Oh joy! He sent me home with a prescription for antibiotics & instructions to see what happens in 10 days. The discharge may never go completely away. I certainly hope this antibiotic works. He gave me a pretty good exam or at least as good as he could given my weird anatomy AND he actually read the reports I gave him fm DR Jerry's office. Even he was impressed with the amt of shrinkage. Best of all, he didn't mention the dreaded H word, although that may come up in future visits if this infection doesn't clear up. That's how I spent MY Monday! Hope the rest of you guys had a little better day. Liz
