annual meeting

Preliminary program

*Mediterranean Editors and Translators (MET)* is an independent,

non-profit association that brings together people who provide language

support for international communication in English within the

Mediterranean area and beyond. The preliminary program of this year’s

annual meeting is now online and registration

opened. Accommodation for meeting participants is available at the guest

house of the conference center

Topics accepted so far include the ins and outs of authors’ editing, the

translation of quotations, a translation project in primary schools, the

open-access publishing model, a freelance translator’s customer

satisfaction survey, a web-based aid for terminology searches, and

training in writing for academic purposes. There will be panel

discussions on translating literature and editing literary translations,

practical ideas for getting the most out of your working environment

(part III of the popular “Tools Panelâ€), and news from the world of

biomedical editors. The list of accepted presentations and abstracts is

The program also includes two half-day workshop sessions with a choice

of nine workshops.

The call for oral presentations is closed, but poster proposals can be

submitted until 30 June 2012. Information on how to submit a poster
