a little story about that- my hubby and I both go to the VA hospital on Fris.

He goes in the morns.I go afternoons we pass each other traveling. One day I

stopped at a McDs for a bottle of water. I had to call his cell and have him

stop to open it. I had to buy different drink glasses becuz some are too heavy

and some are shaped bad. I use a straw more cuz my wrist does not always allow

tipping a glass for me to sip. Ah the strange " little things "

have the grip to open them any more. it's hell to be limited . and just to think

it will only get worse is depressing . makes you just want to sit down and cry.

but we got to keep on pushing on. mike

scooter? I told my mom well thekids would be MORE embarrassed if I ran around

ungroomed just cuz it is too hard for me to do it alone- and I told my friend

gosh I do not want to always stay home- I am too young! I still LIKE to go

places- the scooter lets me. My kids are not embarassed by my scoooetr, they

LOVE it! My little guy hangs on the back, and the older ones load me down to

carry everything, LOL. SOmeone actually told me gosh if you really are sick

STAY home. I was like HUH? gosh there is just too much living I want to do- so

wwhat I am slow. SO what I now wear pull over my head dresses or dresses that

snap up the front for ease- or I plop silly hats on my head cuz it is easier

than trying to reach my hair or holding a comb- hey I get to go all kinds of

places again with my scooter!

It sure earned him good points with the women I went to see at the VA- and then

they told their husbands and it earned him lots of good natured teasing from the

men at VA next time he went, LOL. I did think it was very sweet. I called it

one of those things you do that show how much you love someone. :-)

YES - cell phones are awesome! One day I was coming home from school- before dx

and all- and my knee swelled on my way home (it was the beginning of a truly

intense flare)- I had a stick shift car (I miss that car os much) and I had to

pull over and call home and he had to come get me cuz no way with that knee

could I drive that car. without the cell phone I am not sure where I would have

called him from, by that point, I also could not WALK! (i did not realize THAT

until he got there to get me)

Talk about an ego blow for 5 years HE was catatonic from combat PTSD and I ran

the house and family alone, and now here I am calling him on a cell phone to

open water? LOL
