Guest guest
Am I correct in assuming that you do not have medical coverage?? Personally, I've had numerous Ultra Sounds now, since the beginning of 2009. Initially, it was to keep an eye on my liver while doing Hep C medication. If something didn't look right, I was then sent for a CT Scan. The last CT report recommended an MRI. But, my surgeon didn't feel it was necessary because we both knew what it meant. You see, I'm one of the people from a small percentage, that got cancer from the cirrhosis. I had a liver resection in Apr 2010 and only 15 months later, it's confirmed that now I have 3 tumors. I always have said that there are steps to take that will eventually lead to an MRI, if my Drs just weren't positive. ________________________________  Hello everyone, I am new to respond here, but have been reading all entries for quite some time. I have been diagnosed with Hep C, cirrhosis stage 3, have had varices banded, and now have had 2 elevated AFP levels in the last six months. My doctor wants to do an MRI, but I think a CT would be the next step (from an economical standpoint also). I have been dealing with this since 1996 and have also been a nurse that long. Any thoughts on this? I'd really appreciate some feedback on this. Joan from Ft. Worth, TX
Guest guest
Hi, Joan. At CU I have been screened for HCC every 6 months. They found a mass in the right lobe in summer of 2010, and the screenings went to one every three months. I think they should scan you asap. Love, Bobby  ________________________________ To: livercirrhosissupport Sent: Saturday, February 18, 2012 5:49 PM Subject: increased AFP levels  Hello everyone, I am new to respond here, but have been reading all entries for quite some time.
