The first thing that I thought of, was I hope this fella is going to AA

meetings.  What you have described is someone who is still battling his demons,

without the bottle to make the fall easier.  But also, no understanding of the

disease of alcohol!!

Then, I would suggest that you look it up and call your local Al-Anon.    I

don't mean to suggest that you go to Al-Anon if he goes to AA.  Go to meetings

for yourself.  The folks in those rooms have black belts in dealing with their

drunks.  Also, Al-Anon is not a biatch session about the alcoholics.  If you

find that that's what some are slipping into, find a better meeting.  The 12

steps of AA are verbatim the same for Al-Anon, just a little different angle.

You will find a fellowship of people who love their drunk and would never

consider leaving.  But, in those rooms you can find out how they have managed

in all their years.  There was a time that I traded meetings and went to an

Al-Anon not far from the AA.  See, I'm not only a recovering alcoholic; but,

I also picked alcoholics for partners.  What fascinated me in those meetings,

was for example, the lady that was so calm and peaceful and her alcoholic was

still out there.  I needed to see and hear those things.

Hope this helps

Hubby is an alcoholic. After he was diagnosed with cirrhosis, he quit drinking.

He is so negative, critical, angry, and irritable, especially to me. I don't

know how to deal with his negative moods. Any suggestions?

Hugs to all ¢¾
