Guest guest
Dear Mr. Devanshu, In our company too, honey combs are found at the top of silos, cranes, etc. People found very difficult to carry out maintenance work. Some times workers could not reach the work spot at all. In spite of reaching, workers were bitten by honey bees while carrying out the work but escaped with minor injuries. But it is always includes a high risk factor. That the reason we have included this activity in list of significant risks. We have used pesticides for removing it. Still the building of honey combs persists at some place in the same area. Periodically we are taking efforts to minimize this and currently we are engaging “NARIKURAWARS”, who use big flames to remove this bee hives. Till now we have not come across permanent remedies. As you correctly said, built honey combs are the means for treasure but providing safe working atmosphere is the commitment of the Management. We are also eager to know about permanent solutions to avoid this menace.
