Bob I am very sorry about your little friends passing, the dogs and the cat.

That is always a very traumatic time. Does the rainbow bridge idea help? That

you will meet them there? I hope so.

How are you doing these days?? Also, how is your wife? You both have a whole

lot on your plates; but, still you poke your nose in here and offer some

suggestions etc.

Thanks for asking, Gloria. These have been  dark days. Last week was the sixth

anniversary of my best friend Ardis passing away from alcoholic liver disease,

which is usually a sad time, anyway.  The week right before that, her dog

-an Australian Shepard, whom we have cared for and loved for 6 years was

found dead in the front yard by Sharon at 11:00 pm. Sharon screamed so loud, I

was sure the cops would show up. She was very traumatized by it, having touched

the dog, thinking she was asleep, but she was stiff.

The following Monday, my sisters dog, a little lhasa apso named Baily's Irish

Cream passed away.

Exactly two weeks after died, this last Saturday morning, our 12 year

old cat Yoda -a Russian blue-died right under the bed. We checked in on her ,

and knew it was happening. Thank God she spared us from anything gruesome, and

she didn't squeeze in to some crevice in the house and she didn't linger or

suffer. I think it took no more than three hours since she was spotted trying to

squeeze under the TV stand in the living room.  Sharon petted her, and gave her

sweet words of comfort, and she just went.  I think my wife's heart is so

broken, nothing can fix it.

Time, I suppose. Thanks for caring. Love, Bobby

Oh Bobby

I understand that pain and then some.  When our lhasa apso/shitzu was leaving,

I didn't think it would be possible to love another dog as much as him.  I

definitely did not go out looking either.  Then Christmas 2010, a cousin gave

me their original mini standard poodle.  I don't even like poodles much and

this gal has ribbons etc from dog shows.  But, she was far passed that.  Now

we can't be separated.  In fact, I am looking to move out of my RV and the park

by the end of the month.  Those that know me, know I will not go anywhere

without my dog.

I think it was only a year ago that our 14 yr old cat that I brought here as

soon as my husband died, gave the signals that he was going.  My great-niece

came and got me.  So, I carried him to the bedroom and laid there stroking him

until he went.  My niece wanted to bury him in the back yard of the place that

my husband and I lived.  That very evening, we were able to catch the orange

tabby that had come to live with us some time before.  Literally, when he

realized that the woman he lived with was moving, he came to the window that my

other cats used and it was almost like he asked my husband if he could move in

now.

He took his job of watching over the place very seriously though.

But, when my niece moved in to that mobile with her 2 kids and lord knows how

many cats, he refused to stay.  I felt so guilty leaving him.  He was really

" trailer park trash "   LOL  But, he's out here with me now.  He is showing all

the signs of an old cat; but, he can still wander all over this RV park and the

tall grasses etc.  Also, he's still a mouser, except he brings them home as

gifts AND they are not dead.  LOL

You know, if I had been smart enough to take is seriously how any of my dogs

acted around a new man in my life, I would not have made so many mistakes.

Then, my 1st husband and I had more problems with custody of the dog than

anything else.  I won and she was 6 when my son was born.  People around me

back then, knew me and the dog.  Everyone that I partied with for years, knew

the dogs name.

One time, after a drinking fest in the house, my room mate and I rented.  The

kind that there was still bodies around in the morning!!  LOL  Well, one of

the guys said he woke up and realized someone was on the bed with him.  He

could feel the hair.  When he had the courage to turn over better, he had such

a howl.  It was my dog and so he even knew where he was then.

Take care

Gloria

Thanks so much, Jackie. I do have one of my beloved cats paw print on a copy of

the " rainbow bridge " . I usually can't look at it, because his death was too much

for me to bear, two Christmases ago. I made him a video.

Thanks again. Your caring really does mean the world to me. love, bobby

What an absolutely wonderful video!!

My old guy looks exactly like him, right down the annoyed look if it was

something he didn't like.  However, when he first moved in, he definitely was

not a woman's cat.  He didn't much like them.  He would sleep with my husband

most nights (if he wanted).  But, he isn't that way anymore.  He just tells me

every now and then, that he is so happy he's got a home with food and water.

Wasn't that way before he moved in with us.

It's not just a pet!!  They are our babies.  We look after them just about as

well as we have our kids.

My son has always had a way with animals.  Even the meanest dog, would lick his

hand when he offered it.  When he had braces, the orthodontist asked me not to

let the cats sleep with him; because, he was tired of pulling cat hair from

around the braces.  The very next day, I watched what happened daily when he

got home from school.  Our 2 cats and dog were right there when he opened the

door after school.  They all had to have some attention.  So, it was the last

time I even thought about the orthodontist.  These were like his brothers and

sisters.

He has never lived with us since I got the poodle.  But, she'll almost do back

flips when he comes over.  Then the old orange cat seems to know he's here and

actually comes into the RV to say Hi.

Bobby sorry all these tragedies have happened, and so close together.

Fighting the medical issues the two of you fight are more than should

be asked of anyone and then to have to deal with these loses in a

depleted physical condition to start with. Jan, sending love and

prayers.
