What is a DEXA scan?

As part of the Diabetes Heart Study that my brother and I recently

participated in, we had a bone density test. It seems that for part of

it they did restrain my feet, but I can't remember for sure. But

sometimes for these types of tests, you have to lay your arms directly

behind you. With Enbrel, I have very little pain now, but for some

reason that position nearly kills me. Well, I took a small throw pillow

with me this last time to rest my arms on, and it made a world of

difference: no pain.

she kept telling me to roll my hips in. i told her my hip was out of place

and would not turn in. so she took my feet and turned them inwards (pigeon toed)

and tied them like that. each part of the test was about 10 minutes. i was

there about total of an hour. kathy in il

I just had mine done on Thursday, the only thing I had to remove were my shoes

and the procedure took less than 10 mins. Are there different ways of doing this

test? I had the same test done a few years ago at a different location and if my

memory serves me correctly, this time was done the same way.
