Guest guest
Hi folks I am still sorting through the digests so apologies if this has already been mentioned--but any synthetic BCP, including depo has not been proven to shrink fibroids. In fact from what I have seen and heard (anecdotal evidence) generally they *increase* fibroid size. This has been my experience--my fibroids went from a few mm in Dec to 4cms in a matter of months due to BCPs. 2 Gyns suggested depo to me and since oral BCPs caused an 8 week period for me, I did not take them up on this 'offer'. Although it stops periods for some women, for others it can be a nightmare of daily bleeding for months. When I asked my last Gyn he mentioned one " side effect " of depo might be a 6 month period! E >Dear Helen Have you heard about taking depo-provera, as a contraceptive aid to shrink the fibroids, it is an injectible. It has no oestrogen in it. I hope you don't mind me asking you how old you are. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com.
