Hi Dan. Thanks for the advise. They did tell me about the MXT taking a

while to get into my system, it's just hard trying to learn to slow down

but I'm trying. I have gotten a stool for in the shower, as I really

can't stand for that long without the weakness or pain in the legs. They

have me on the Viccoden for pain, but unless I take two at a time, it

really doesn't help much so I just try to bear with it, I really don't

like taking the pain meds but I will when I have to.

The storms last night missed me, they pretty much stayed out east. I have

lived in the Springs all of my life. I love it here, I love the mountains

a lot.

Subject: and MTX

Did your doctor tell you that it takes somewhere around 2 to 3 months

before MTX makes real improvements for you? The only thing I ever

found to curb that awful pain was very potent pain pills. They just

put you out in LA-LA land. The inflamation in the joints and the

pain and weakness is something most people just do not comprehend at

all. Get yourself some helpful goodies. Like those rubber strap

wrench things that work on jar lids, door knobs, yes damned old door

knobs were a major obstical for me for a while. It was like being

locked in everywhere. haha.

It is just terrible loosing the ability to do things before, but

rest assured when you get better, AND YOU WILL, that you will look

at all kinds of little things and appreciate them more.

Hang in there and GET YOUR REST, can not say how very important

rest, and sometimes a LOT of rest too.

Are you getting any storms along the front range this evening? They

ran me out of Montana this week, so I am camping out in Casper

Wyoming for the week.

Question for you. Have you lived in the Springs for a long time?

Toni,

He did put me on folic acid (1 mg) as well as the MTX pills. Thank

you for your input. It sounds like everyone has better luck with

the shots. I just took my first dose of the pills yesterday. I'm

sure it will take awhile for the side effects.

I just want to thank everyone here. I have only been a member for

one day and I already feel better about things. I am a care taker

in my family and do not like people to worry about me so I have

tried to fluff it over with my son, husband and sisters. But there

are times that I am scared to death and it helps to know that there

is a group that will understand that.

Thanks again!
