Mr. Kovacek,

Just so I understand, Is there a proposed PPS for outpatient rehab

anticipated in October 1999 (non hospital based),or am I misunderstanding.

Is the fee schedule considered a form of pps? is the cap?

There is a proposed hospital outpatient PPS proposed. It is

hospital only and will affect just about all outpatient services EXCEPT

rehab therapy. The implementation date is up in the air since we

are still in the comment period. The proposed rule was published in

Federal Register 9/8/98. Comment period is scheduled to close on

6/30/99 but....
