Guest guest
Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons of New York, LLC http://www.adlap.com/ New link to highly skilled laparoscopic surgeons.....including Dr. Harry Reich....the gyn who initiated the use of laparoscopy in gynecology in the U.S. a little over 10 years ago. BTW, have I posted the link to the member directory for gynecological endoscopic surgeons? Here it is anyway just in case I haven't: American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) http://www.aagl.com Sort of uncovered a bit of a " bug " in their membership/accreditation process last week. Apparently, gyn board certification is required before consideration is given for certification in endoscopy by this org. Unfortunately, a gyn can allow their gyn board certification to lapse and still not be removed from the endoscopy list as they don't do any follow up checks on their docs once their certification is granted. Not good. So, it's still a good idea to follow through on a background check of a doc prior to consenting to surgery from him -- even if they have a cert in one arena it doesn't mean they've stayed on top of things in others. These organizations with their " requirements " need bettergatekeeping systems to monitor doctors over the long haul, that's for sure. carla
