Guest guest
Hi Maybe my experience can help some of you. My rheumy does not give any credibitliy to the effects of diet on RA, but I have been doing a little experimenting on my own. I fasted one day and since then I have eliminated dairy and wheat and I am trying to limit my intake of meat and fish. I am also adding a couple of tablespoons of flax seed to my food daily. I feel much better. I don't know if I can attribute this to my change in diet, but I believe it may be a factor and worth a try. It could also be that simultaneously the plaquenil has started to work. I am also practicing meditation which I believe helps. Here is an article from the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition with more info about diet and RA. http://www.ajcn.org/cgi/reprint/70/3/594S I believe it is best, if possible to get a doctor to help advise you about dietary changes. I am looking for additional guidance to make sure that I am receiving the nutrition I need.
