Guest guest
We met with my attorney at the court. My attorney seems very optimistic and really wasn't worried much at all about getting approved for the disability, but was a little concerned about what the onset date would be set at. My hearing was due to start at 2:15. At 3:00 the judges assistant told my attorney that the case before me had gone over and ate up all my time and the judge had an eye Dr. appointment for himself he had to get to and would have to reschedule my hearing. My attorney asked me not to hit him with my cane, and proceeded to tell me it could be around 2 months or so for the rescheduled hearing. Also, my attorney was informed that the judge has requested a rheumatologist be at the rescheduled hearing. Frustrating, YES. But..I guess it works out for the best. This gives me a chance to get established with my new rheumy and get rid of the idiot rheumy I've been seeing. Thanks for all the prayers and crossed fingers. I really appreciate the support from all of you. Guest guest
Oh Rick: What a bummer......it seems like they could have least have put you first at the very next hearing......you must be a very calm person, as I would have had images of inserting that cane where the sun does'nt shine. Having a rheumy there could go either way depending on the questions the judge asks of him....in my case I was lucky I guess because the rheumy had to admit to never having an SD patient so really could'nt rebut any of what my rheumy had written. Hopefully the 2 months will give the new rheumy time to write alot on your behalf, please keep us up on your news, and I am really sorry you had to go through that I know I was a nervous wreck before and during mine......still keeping my fingers crossed....kathi in ok > > > > Well everyone, today is the big day for me. Guest guest
Kathi, I guess because the rheumy had to admit to never having an SD patient so really couldn't rebut any of what my rheumy had written. What is SD? I don't think it was as much being a patient person as it is being powerless and at their mercy. My Pain Management Dr. knows the new rheumy and she says I will absolutely love her and says she is a wonderful Dr. and wonderful person. That will be a switch from the one I have now and I'm looking forward to seeing her. Thanks for the encouragement and supportive words. Guest guest
Sorry about that, Rick. Good that you can see the positive side of the situation. I hope your new rheumatologist is marvelous and that he'll help you get ready for the next hearing. I'll tell you where to go!
