Guest guest
Today I talked to the rheumy Fellow about infections and Enbrel. He asked me details about my cold and cough, and he thought it should be okay to go back on Enbrel on Sunday. I wanted to be extra cautious because I don't want to do anything to jeopardize staying on Enbrel. My white cell count is still low, so I guess that's why it's taking me so long to get over this stupid cold, even with an antibiotic. The doctor said that when drugs such as methotrexate lower the WBC count, it usually reverses when you stop the drug. He also said that it will usually lower other blood cell counts as well, which was not the case with me. So I'm still wondering if the radiation treatments I had following breast cancer surgery two years ago are to blame. RA is certainly not my favorite disease, LOL.
