Guest guest
, you started my day with a big smile and lots of memories. I was the Queen of feet since the age of 14. When I left work my DIL inherited all my high heel (only kind I had) shoes, about 40+ pair and I had to begin wearing New Balance for 18 years. Since my feet surgery I am back to buying shoes (not high heels) not really sensible but not ugly and clunky either. I am extremely busy writing speeches I am giving this Wed and all weekend to politicians and co-payors on the need for better and easier access to the new biologics along with need to understand how RA affects the lives of those living with the disease. Wish me luck. Hugs June
Guest guest
June, Thank you for you care and concern to let others know what we are going through and the difficulty to get the meds or should I say the arm and leg we have to pay to get these meds. Thank you from the bottom of my hear. Terri [ ] Good shoes for bad feet? > , you started my day with a big smile and lots of memories. I was the Queen of feet since the age of 14. Guest guest
June, Good luck! I know you will do well. You have such a wonderful way with words along with a fantastic rapport with the many groups you work with. You are certainly well credentialled, which will grab everyone's attention, and then I know your message will be perfect and have a great impact. I wish I could hear one of your speeches, as well as see you in action with the presentations you make to physicians. You are such a valuable spokesperson for all of us with RA, a real treasure! Keep up the good work. Guest guest
Glad you are smiling! Best of luck on the speaking. It is so important! Shoe love runs genetically in our family. My sister and my mom and one of her sisters were also shoe fans. I saw some pale pink pumps with little heart shaped vamps last week and remembered the good old days before flats and clogs. A dear friend of mine sent me a b'day card not long ago for my 50th - all about shoes. LOL. My mom would actually sneak shoes in...and work them in her wardrobe....not because my dad minded but because he used to tease her so about them!! Gee if I can no longer be of help - or at least can't change the Social Security system - maybe I can be a shoe consultant for this crew!! Before you buy- e-mail .... How far are you from Sarnia...? I am still going to Port Huron regularly and will probably end up in Canada...unless security tightens to much...it would be fun to meet for lunch or dinner or shopping. Guest guest
June and , Leave it up to the two of you to start talking about shopping!!! I took a break from work and started reading e-mail and I enjoyed your stories about shoes. That is one of the things I miss the most - I loved all of my shoes and hiking boots. Since the stroke, I can only wear my ortho shoes or occasionally my tennis shoes. I guess I better not complain, they get me where I'm going. I still love to look at shoes and dream!!! Thanks for the laugh. Pat Re: [ ] Good shoes for bad feet? Glad you are smiling! Best of luck on the speaking. It is so important! Shoe love runs genetically in our family. Guest guest
Thanks, Pat. I hope you don't have to wear TEDS stockings with the shoes...but I remember that they were a bear during the summer...just wanted to wear sandals. Hope the stroke recovery will permit you to wear some cute flats soon...among all other best wishes. As for the OT shoes- Just trying to inject a little humor in the posts...and the advice to Sierra is practical, field tested and does boost spirits. I enjoyed the posts last year with Debs and Carol and the sandals...with Lucy and Ethel. Glad to see you are posting and have the same good sense of humor. Guest guest
I use to love shoes! I always had a closet full. Of course the closet consists of sneakers, slippers and mules now. Hey that's life. For a few years there I was just as happy that I couldn't wear the styles that were out there. Ugly looking platforms every single one of them. Now the " pretty " shoes/heals are coming back into fashion and I am sooo jealous of people who can wear them. One thing I have noticed with women when they are wearing heals is that the heal may be pretty, but the wearer is in misery. You can tell by the way they walk. Why do these woman go through so much pain. I guess they just don't realize what kind of damage they are doing to their feet and spine wearing uncomfortable shoes. They will find out later, won't they. I just bought a pair of Keds sneaker/mules. Found out after about an hour, I can't wear them. They are nice and cushy for the bottom of the feet. Roomy for the width of the feet, but because I have a high arch, they hurt the top of my feet. & ^%$$ I really did like them for 2 reasons. No, 3 reasons. They are mules and I didn't have to tie them. Back to the store!! :-( in Ct.
