Guest guest
You might be able to download the needed application, check to see if your DMV has a website online. Also, you might check with your Doctors office they may have the form. I know a site that has the web addresses for most State's DMV's. Email me off list if you want me to look up the address for your state. Becky braine@... [ ] HANDICAP STICKER hi, in ohio, you go to the d.m.v. get their form take it to the dr to be filled out and then go back to dmv and get sticker. mine is renewable every 5 years. also, i paid the first time i got one, and shortly after was refunded. according to the letter i got, it is unconstitionable to charge us for the sticker. now, i don't pay, so i would check with your state. this happened shortly after the ada was passed susan in ohio -------- In a lot of big citites you will find that when you go to park that the handicap parking spaces don't have meters. Guest guest
DH just picked up my Handicap sticker and found out some valuable information. Woman at MV said to make sure our car is always locked. Seems there are people out there who look for these stickers/passes to steal to use for themselves or to sell. Now how low is that!!??? We do live in a sad world........ in Ct. Guest guest
Pretty despicable. In Florida they give us an ID card along with the handicapped placard. If the police see someone parking in handicapped that doesn¹t look handicapped, they ask to see the ID and if you don¹t have it, they will ticket you. I think that is a pretty good system that all states should use and maybe it would cut down on the fraud. a > DH just picked up my Handicap sticker and found out some valuable > information. Guest guest
That sounds like a good idea. Here in Ct. we have to sign the sticker/card and I guess use our driver's license for ID. I thought that is stupid since my handwriting (arthritis in my hands amoungst other places) is never the same twice, but my pic is on my license so I guess they will have to go by that. The downside of that is I don't usually bring my license with me if DH is driving. I guess I will have to now. Such a small inconvenience compared to having to walk a long distance. The police actually check!!?? I don't think they do here. I don't think I have ever seen police check the cars here. I think mall security checks because I have seen them out checking the cars. I see too many people use the handicap spots and jump out of their cars and run, I mean RUN into the store. I don't care how good you feel, if you have arthritis so bad that you need that parking place, you can't run unless you are on fire!! I think the state relies on the citizens to squeal on people. Have a great weekend! in Ct. Re: [ ] Handicap Sticker Pretty despicable. In Florida they give us an ID card along with the handicapped placard.
