Guest guest
Today my endo called me and said that he had received a report about my CT scan that was done as part of the Diabetes Heart Study that my siblings and I participated in. It showed a thickening around my pancreas, my small intestine, and my esophagus where it empties into the stomach. This just showed up incidentally on the scan; they weren't looking for it. So I am scheduled for another CT scan next week, this time with contrast. I assume this means they will inject dye first. It seems that I remember reading something about having to stop some medications a few days before being injected with this dye. Does anyone know anything about this? I don't have any clue as to what these thickenings could mean. My endo seemed to be at a loss, too, but thinks it is wise to follow up. Can anyone venture a guess?
