Guest guest
, a...I have another pesty question I need to run by you guys....I have had a relly funky thing going on with my fingernails...really black lines running vertically, more dense towards the top of the nail, and the nails are getting really thick. The cuticle is hard, inflamed and now started with a doozy of an infection. Also extremely inflammed and fire engine red. I was sure it was a fungus....anyway they took nail clippings, and scraping of the cutuicle area.....today my PCP had the lab results back and there is NO fungus....??????? I guess from what he said they took a look at several things yeast, ect as well as fungus. Anyway it is none of the norms. Then he told me that people with inflammatory arthritis , approximatley 50% are affected with nail problems.....this was my first time ever hearing this....he seems convinced it is the SD.....so is sending me to a dermatologist and personally calling rheumy.....also have sores right at nail line that keep getting infected, but it is not the typical SD calcinous type that appears on the fingertip. Yes, I know I am getting long winded, but the searches I did showed up the stuff I already knew like the nail scrapings they do to prove SD, but nothing on the way this looks or even pics that come close, so have you guys heard anything like this....maybe could steer me in the right direction, I have tried every search query I could think off....and it is so painful I can hardly use my fingers, just touching something sends me to the moon....trying not to complain to loudly as it is a free trip everytime ;+}....mostly it looks so ugly and I have almost no nails left as every finger is involved some worse than others.....and it is a little warm at 98* to wear gloves.....any input would be greatly appreciated.....Kathi in OK
Guest guest
Kathi I don't really have any input, but that sounds so painful I just wanted to say I hope you find an answer and some relief soon. Cary
