Guest guest
HI EVERY ONE, I JUST HAVE A QUESTION THAT HAS BEEN BOTHERING ME LATELY. IF YOU HAVE RA AND FIBROMYALGIA ARE YOUR RISKS OF GETTING MS HIGHER THAN IF YOU HAVE NONE OF THESE AUTO IMMUNE DISEASES? THANKS, CINDI
Guest guest
Hi Cindi... I don't know if the risk for MS is higher, but I've read that autoimmune diseases tend to 'cluster', meaning, if you get one and then another, you will likely develop yet another. It's kind of a domino effect. I think the real breakthru for us will be when they find something that stops the body from attacking itself and hopefully doesn't create dangerous side effects in the process. I've also read (and personally believe) that autoimmune disease could possibly be triggered by severe trauma, both physical and emotional. Because women seem so prone, the hormones probably enter in, as well. It would be interesting to see a study done of women and stress, and how it relates to the incidence of autoimmune disease. Has one been done, does anyone know? I don't know that I'd worry it overmuch, Cindi... MS is still a big mystery overall, I think. Could be something totally unrelated that causes it. hugs ** cheryl ** > HI EVERY ONE, > > I JUST HAVE A QUESTION THAT HAS BEEN BOTHERING ME > > LATELY. > > IF YOU HAVE RA AND FIBROMYALGIA ARE YOUR RISKS OF GETTING > > MS HIGHER THAN IF YOU HAVE NONE OF THESE AUTO IMMUNE DISEASES? > > THANKS, CINDI
