I haven't read anything that linked the occurence of Cholangiocarcinoma

in PSC to UC.

Actually I just looked up an abstract from Hepatology that I posted a

few weeks ago, and it specifically said that IBD didn't show up as a

factor in that study. Of course it was a pretty small sample, and so

there may be an association, but probably not a strong one.

It was my understanding from Mike's doctors that with a long history of UC

came a greater possibility of Cholangiocarcinoma......

Lynn,

That's what our doctors have indicated to us. They are watching Phil

very carefully for that. Too bad UNOS doesn't consider it. When will

they wake up!!!

Possibly so. Like I said, this was a small study, and there may have

been others which reached a different conclusion. He may have been

talking about colon cancer though. (As opposed to cholangioncarcinoma,

which is in the bile ducts.) I understand that is associated

significantly with UC.
