Guest guest
Hi Toni...I currently go to 2 support groups for bariatric surgery patients each month. I have found them to be invaluable. There is one coming up this Wedneday night and I am eager to see everyone. I've been going to both of them since about November, and I can't imagine not continuing. Suprisingly (for me!) I have really come out of my shell " socially " as well. Our groups generally go out to dinner before the groups, and I have had some lovely times. Many changes happening! We have a good support network at my hospital, too...dietician, counseling if you choose to, physical therapy, physician on-call 24/7 etc. One thing that is new for me is the way my body let's me know I should eat. I have felt physical hunger before, but it used to come on gradually, like " Hmmm, I'm starting to get a little hungry. Probably should eat in an hour or so. " Now, when my stomach is hungry, I have an ache and strong hunger pangs! I generally have to eat something every 2 - 3 hours, but it is a small amount. It is good to be eating lots of different foods again. Well kiddo, the journey has begun for both of us! Keep me posted. God bless us both bunches! : ) Much love....
