Guest guest
a, thank you for responding to my message. I think the feeling of being in a cave referred more to how small my world gets when I am in a flare....I feel rather cut-off with pain that is controlled somewhat by pain medicine and with a kind of physical weakness that feels like fatigue. I feel quite ill at first and then slowly start feeling better. There is a difficult period for me that always comes after the worst of the pain and before I begin to feel really well again and that is where I was when I found this group and started sending notes along. Not sure this makes any sense to you but I wanted to try to explain. The comment about self-pity bothered me because I think it is an unpleasant label to throw at ourselves. I think there is loss and grieving with RA and I find life easier when I just deal with that and move on, rather than using the tool of denial as I did for many years of my life....got to be a real pro! Anyhow, I am glad we got a chance to talk about this. I am so sorry for the loss of your pet...they are such a wonderful addition to our lives. Such beloved companions. So long for now. Guest guest
I know exactly how you feel. I felt like that for a few years before I realized what was going on. Even after the diagnosis of RA, I didn't understand the fatigue. It took every effort to just get up and go to the bathroom or eat or do anything. I just had to push myself through the day and became reclusive. Just going to the grocery store was a major event to go through. I have been taking Provigil for almost a year now and that helps the fatigue. It doesn't make it go away, just makes life a lot easier. I looked forward to the end of the day so I could just fall into bed after dinner and I looked forward to the weekend so I could lay in bed all weekend. My computer used to be in our bedroom but we made an office in our basement and that was just so awful to have to go up and down the steps so much. We are all here for you, we've all been there and totally understand. There are some good, strong shoulders here for you. I started a few weeks ago on a nutritional powder called Reliv. I am just shocked that my fatigue and pain has lifted. I have been going full speed ahead since Monday of this past week. I woke up feeling like a different person. It's like my metabolism was non-existent and suddenly jump started. I made two of those fleece tie blankets this week even! The down side of all of this is that I'm finding my muscles are sore because I'm obviously using muscles that have not had much of a workout at all for the past few years. I was sitting on the floor cutting and tying the material, cutting lots of little strips for the ties, etc. I think I was most amazed at my hands being able to cut with a scissors like that. I really don't understand how this stuff works, the only thing I halfway understand is I'm probably getting more amino acids than ever before. I don't even know what amino acids are but they're doing something for me. I hope this continues. I went to the mall today, did lots of errands that my husband and kids usually do for me, and it's midnight and I'm still on the go. I just started my mother on the products last night hoping it would help her. She's 83 and has osteoarthritis plus many other ailments. She is always in pain, has acid reflux, etc. The doctor said the balanced nutrition of this product would not hurt it, might help her, might not, but to try it. It will be interesting to see what happens in a month or two. Hang in there. Becky P.S. a, I've been missing some posts due to lack of time. I am so sorry to hear about your beloved pet. My dogs are like my children, I adore them so much. I cannot even imagine how you must feel right now. Re: [ ] Digest Number 3994 a, thank you for responding to my message. Guest guest
So when you say NO FLOUR are you talking about the basic white flour you get at the store or does that also include home milled WHEAT flour ground from whole wheat berry grains too?? I thought there was a difference between good carbs and bad carbs...and a true whole wheat flour (like the wheat I mill)...that the fiber cancelled out the carb factor?? I am so confused! HE SAID THAT SO MANY PEOPLE WERE 'SENT HOME AND TOLD TO GET THEIR AFFAIRS IN ORDER' WHEN IT WAS REALLY LYMES AND NOT ALS OR SOME OTHER HORRIFIC DISEASE OR DISORDER !!! SHAME ON DOCTOR SHIPIRO !!!!! AND ANYONE WHO WOULD BELIEVE HIM !!!!!! PLEASE KEEP US POSTED AS YES ..IT WILL AFFECT EVERY LLMD IN THIS NATION !!!!! Is there any way for us to flood media stations or local papers with letters to the editor to bring attention to this before the public? I went to Lifetime TVs website and wrote a letter to the producers and asked if they would consider doing an episode of Strong Medicine on the political hot potato that Lyme Disease has become and it is taking a toll on our health and quality of life. Maybe someone who knows more of the details than I do could write a " form letter " that we could all fill in our local news info and send it it out in droves! If someone could write the letter in a Word Document we could all get it by email then print and mail from our own states to our local legislators, media and letters to the editor. Is anyone up to drafting the letter? I would mail it!! and so would all my friends in my address book! dawn
