Guest guest
Cindi, I have been on anti depressants for probably 10 years, and should have been on them long before that. Even with the meds, changes that go along with RA, are depressing. I think accepting things is like accepting the death of the old you/ But the good news is that you are still you, and learning to accept what you can do is the best thing you can do for yourselves. I grew up with my father having RA, and seeing him lose his abilites a little at a time. He never became bitter or gave up, though. He just did what he could. Towards the end, he had emphthysema as well as RA, and was on oxygen. He had a special adapter made for his oxygen tank so he could still cut the lawn on the riding mower. Have to do what I can he said. So, I know, that having RA doesn't have to kill my spirit. I just have to learn to do somethings differntly, and that others things I just can't do. You just have to do what you can, and treasure the things you are able to do. Noreen
