So far so good for me on the sulfasalazine... no panic attacks. May I ask how long you were on the sulfasalazine before you started having the panic attacks? > > Kind regards, > , I had just started taking it. I think I started taking it on a Monday and this was Thursday. I had felt fine and left to go to my physical therapy appointment and when I got there I got very very scared. I couldn't open the door to the truck and just sat there. I started crying - almost hysterically - I knew something was very wrong. My physical therapist was walking by and saw me and got in the passenger seat and talked with me - she called the base doctors and they told her just to sit calmly with me that I would be okay hopefully in a few minutes. They told her to tell me to stop taking the sulfasalazine immediately and to come in and see them as soon as I could. She was so great - she just sat there with me and soon I was okay. Her calm way of talking to me helped the most. I went in to my doctor the next day and they had contacted my RA and he had changed me from the sulfasalazine to methotrexate and I have been fine since. God bless, Althea
