Guest guest
Kath, any NSAID, even ibuprofen, can cause secondary hypertension. According to what we know so far, hypertension associated with Vioxx (rofecoxib) seems to be a more common and serious problem than with Bextra (valdecoxib), but it does happen with Bextra, too. Medsafe.govt.nz Data Sheet on Bextra (valdecoxib) 7 February 2003 http://www.medsafe.govt.nz/Profs/Datasheet/b/Bextratab.htm RxList.com Information on Bextra (valdecoxib) side effects http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/bextra_ad.htm American Family Physician January 1, 2003 " Diagnosing Secondary Hypertension " http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030101/67.html (see Table 2) I'll tell you where to go! Mine is up from 120/60 to 149/88 over the past two years - I started Bextra two years ago!!!!! I cannot get any doctor to admit there is any link to that at all. > > Please let me know where to read more about this if you could, > Kath
