Carole,

I'm very sorry you aren't feeling well.

Is there any chance that you could go see another physician for a second

opinion? The fact that he isn't concerned about the ringing in your ears

doesn't say much for him. Are they expecting you to just live with it

for the next three months? What medications will you be using?

If he believe that osteoarthritis is responsible for your neuralgia, is

it OA in your neck? Your jaw?

I'll tell you where to go!

Hi - this seems to happen everytime I go anywhere. I seem to

pay for my 'outing' for days later!

The Osteoarthritis, is suppose to be in my jaw. As I am seeing my

Rheumatologist early July, I will mention what the ENT specialist

said to me.

I was disappointed, about the lack of concern for the noise in my

ears, but after awhile all I want to do is get home. I don't seem

to have the mental or physical energy to persue things:(

Food for thought though, a second opinon. Thanks so much for your

support it is much appreciated. Like many on this list, I try to

say as little as possible to my husband, as he has his own health

problems.

It was the shock of these which might have brought my Fibromyalgia

on!

All the best - Carole

If it's truly trigeminal neuralgia, you need a neurologist or a neurosurgeon.

I know our neurosurgeons cure trigeminal neuralgia. It is a minimal

surgery, but it depends on how much you suffer whether you want surgery. For

many

people it is so excruciating, some actally consider suicide! Cary

Dear Carole,

I have a hunch that our moments of feeling " low " goes with the territory.

Regarding what you said:

" My neck, upper back, and knees are all painful. This is no real

surprise, I only have to assert myself in a minor way, and I get

exhausted and then the pain increases. Just feel like sitting here

doing nothing! " .

This is the way it has been for me too. I keep wondering if somehow I'm not

suddenly turning " lazy " ; then I get these remote sudden bursts of energy, and

find myself trying to play " catch up " with everything, and I realize it has to

do with what we're going through. It's really hard to take emotionally and

physically, when being busy has always been the way of life.

My mom-n-law has bouts with Neuralgia in the face too. I will email her and see

what she does to try and find comfort during those times. If she sends me

anything helpful, I will be sure to forward it to the RA-Support . I know she

has to be careful in what she eats, but don't recall her ever mentioning having

Osteorthritis though. She has other medical conditions, so it's hard to know

what plays into another. I have ringing in my left ear sometimes, and my doc.

said it could be due to some nerve problem which affects the ear and sometimes

balance. Don't know if this would be your case or not though, Carole.

Well, getting tired, going to email my mother-n-law and then stop for the

evening. Hope you'll feel better soon.

Hi everyone - feeling really low today, so very tired and weepy.

The weather is certainly not helping, it is very grey, windy and

raining.

Went to see the ENT specialist yesterday, and the good news is that

they found no throat abnormalities, but it was very imflamed. They

will write to my doctor, so she can prescribe meds for me, on an

ongoing basis. They will send for me for a check up, in 3 months

time.

The neuralgia in my face, the specialist seemed to think

Osteoarthritis, was causing it. But didn't seem interested in the

noise in my ears, I will have to pickup on that on my next

appointment.

My neck, upper back, and knees are all painful. This is no real

surprise, I only have to assert myself in a minor way, and I get

exhausted and then the pain increases. Just feel like sitting here

doing nothing! that attitude won't get me far:(

All the best to everyone - Carole

Oh that is absolutely dreadful, poor souls. Fortunatley, mine is

unpleasant, but short lived. What also happens is my jaw does it

own thing sometimes when I am eating and I bite my tongue, now that

really hurts.
