Guest guest
Hi , Just want to say hi, hope that you start feeling better, and getting some nap time in. I never heard about IBS and FMS being connected, I'm sure that someone might be up to date on it. I'm sorry to hear about your teeth, mine have also started getting bad over the years, it's time for a body repair, lol You have a good day, and I'm glad you checked in, hugs Tawny --- In , " x_stitcher7x " <guernsey_73@h...> wrote: > Good Monday Morning to all... > > > Sorry I havent posted any lately, between the AS and moving, been > busy and quite out of it..all at the same time... > > > I wanted to pose a question out there, and see what peoples thoughts > are....as well as Having AS i also have had IBS since a very early > age, so heres the question is it possible, that AS can be > misdiagnosed and it really be FMS????? i was reading up on an > article on IBS this morning, and found that IBS and FMS are directly > connected....just a thought to ponder...hmmmm..... > > ive gotten thru the waiting list for the RA specialist, but now just > need the money to see him...he wants 150 for the initial > consultation, and 60 for every visit after...this will be my first > time seeing an RA specialist in the states...and not sure if this is > good overly expensive or whathave u...so your opinions would be > appreciated , for the 1st visit they are willing to take 75 down and > make payments on the other 75...so i guess thats a good thing.... > > > at the moment im on Prednisone 40 mg a day (still) , 300mg of > celebrex a day, 6 tabs of MTX a week (which Im out of!), and > darvocet every 4 hrs as needed, those is gettin low too...lol > > the AS has started to attack my teeth, i know some of the meds ive > been on over the yrs can do that too, had to have 2 teeth removed a > couple of weeks ago, need to eventually have them all removed and > have dentures put in....wish we could afford it, cant eat much these > days the amount of teeth that dont hurt in my mouth is getting > fairly scarce... > > Jeez man Im fallin apart!! Guest guest
Hi, ! Hope you are happy in your new home. You've asked a complicated question. There is an association of fibromyalgia with both irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). IBS and IBD have many similar features, but they are quite different. Below you can read about them both (see the chart for a quick comparison): IBSCrohns.About.com " Symptoms of IBS and IBD: They have similar symptoms - how do we tell them apart? " http://ibscrohns.about.com/cs/ibs/a/diffibsibd.htm A person can have both IBS and IBD. IBD and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) often occur together. Fibromyalgia and AS often exist in the same person. I'm not sure who made your AS diagnosis and how, but if you have arthritis and x-ray evidence (or other imaging studies) of AS, those findings could not be explained by fibromyalgia. I am concerned that you've been running out of your meds and that you are still on that huge dose of prednisone. I hope your new rheumatologist is a good one. I'll tell you where to go! Mayo Clinic in Rochester http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester s Hopkins Medicine http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org [ ] sorry I havent posted so much lately! > Good Monday Morning to all...
