Guest guest
New York Weill Cornell Medical Center is offering a free seminar on alternatives to hysterectomies: October 17 Alternatives to Hysterectomies Shaun D. Biggers, M.D., A. Chervenak, M.D., & J. Min, M.D. It is estimated that at least 25% of all women will develop fibroids in their lifetime. Although the majority of fibroids are not associated with symptoms, in many cases they can cause severe, heavy menstrual bleeding, pain, pressure or compromise adjacent organs. When symptoms are severe, many women may opt for treatment-- traditionally, this has meant surgical removal. During the past decade, a variety of less-invasive techniques have been developed that have proven to be very safe and effective treatment alternatives for uterine fibroids. This seminar will present the latest information available on these alternatives to hysterectomy and help women determine if they are a candidate for these treatments. http://www.med.cornell.edu/seminars/
