Guest guest
Hi All I thought I would tag my hello on the end of Carole's mail as Carole and I know each other from Cat Lists sharing a mutual hobby of breeding and showing pedigree cats. I have a feeling I joined this list a year or so ago but had to unsubscribe as I could not keep up with the volume of mails. Anyway my name is Judith I live in the UK in a tiny village on the Essex/Suffolk borders. I have been a diagnosed RA sufferer for around 4 and a half years, undiagnosed about 8 years. I have been on Sulphasalazine for about 3 years and tried Methotrexate several times but although the RA improves the side effects are awful so it was decided that this treatment is not suitable for me. My affected joints are my hands and feet and also my jaw flared up a year ago. I was also diagnosed by my last rheumie with Fibromyalgia but my present one diagrees and says I have tennis/golfers elbow and housemaids knee so who knows but I tend to think my old one was correct. I do suffer complete exhaustion from time to time as well so whether this is the RA or Fibromyalgia I have no idea. I don't take anti inflammatories as I had duodenal ulcers from taking them so the only pain relief I have is co-codamol. I take each day as it comes on good days I make the most of them bad days I pass as best I can. I will try and keep up with all the mails and look forward to reading them and offering support if I can. Kind wishes to you all Judith [ ] Re: Lori Hi Lori - thanks so much for that tip about ginger root. I have researched the internet and found a couple of herbs which might help me, such as Dandelion ( sorry mind blank at present over the others:). But when it came to finding them fresh, at the supermarket it was a real no no. Just recently I have cut out aspartme and artifical sweetners, and now drinking filtered water. I used to drink a lot of diet drinks, so that was stopped (and miss them sorely) but I love ginger beer, and your recipe on homemade ginger ale and ginger tea would be most welcome. All the best - Carole ~~~
