Guest guest
Hi Kath, I don't have RA, but I do have Dercum's Disease, which is another autoimmune disease. Humidity definitely does impact how I feel! I live in southern Indiana, and the last few days of very high humidity, in the upper 90% range with heavy rains, have left me feeling like someone disconnected my battery cables! While Dercum's doesn't cause the joint damage that RA does, it does affect the joints with pain, so my joints become more painful when there is low pressure or high humidity. I can definitely tell you when it is going to rain or snow with more accuracy than the weather forecasters. I also have a large number of angiolipomas (fatty tumors with blood vessels, which press on nerves) and those are more sensitive in cold weather; heat and hot water calms them down. I hope you are able to maintain an active lifestyle for as long as possible, and that your rheumy, once you get in to see him/her, is able to get you on a course of medication that is helpful to you. Welcome to a very supportive group! Judi 58-grandmother to a 4-year old and 15-month old triplets
