Still a problem for RDs. How to get the referral? Everyone agrees

there is Medicare coverage with a referral but how.

I have a client who is totally frustrated because he hasn't been able

to get a signed written referral. I've faxed the request. The patient

who should definitely qualify has contacted the doctor's office three

or four times to follow=up and the staff insists it isn't necessary.

He was told by the doctor's staff that a form had to be sent to them

to fill out. This has been going on for about a month. Can you tell me

what process is necessary? I saw the patient yesterday because he

needs help now but I am left without the ability to get paid. The

physician is at MGH Boston, MA
