June: I am so sorry about girl, I know how you have tried and

worked so hard to keep her well. It just broke my heart when I read

your posting. It is so hard to let them go, even when you know they

are wanting to go. They give us so much, and become so much a part of

us it is unbearable when it is time to say good-by. I love the

rainbow bridge idea and I think a is right, she will have many

friends waiting for her.....keeping you both in thought.....hugs and

tears Kathi in OK

June,

So sorry to hear about you fur baby. My dogs are family to me too, and I know

how hard it is for them to get old and ill, and then leave you.

My heart goes out to you.

Hi June, I am sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved companion. One of the

hardest things that

I ever did was making the decision to let our little dog go. I finally decided

that it was selfish

of me to keep her with me any longer as she was suffering. Even though we know

that we did the

right thing, it still was so very difficult. Hugs to you. Iris

June: I am so sorry, I am sitting here crying my eyes out reading

your news. I know she knew you were there loving her. My heart is

aching for you loss, and words seem so inadaquate. So as little as it

is am offering and sending hugs and a little poem, that I hope helps

just a wee bit......hugs (((((((((June))))))) Kathi in OK

Let me come in where you are weeping, friend,

And let me take your hand.

I, who have known a sorrow such as yours,

Can understand.

Let me come in -- I would be very still

Beside you in your grief,

I would not bid you cease your weeping, friend,

Tears bring relief.

Let me come in -- I would only breathe a prayer,

And hold your hand,

For I have known a sorrow such as yours,

And understand.

last night at 7pm she lost all strength and could barely sit up to

have a drink of water. I stayed with her all night putting drops of

water in her mouth. When we tried to pick her up she cried and then,

of course, I cried. I phoned her vet this morning and he said he

thought the cancer had returned in her bone marrow and we agreed to

let her go. When we arrived at the vet, he came out to carry her and

she seemed happy to see him and snuggled right in his arms. We both

stayed with her until the end, then we had a few minutes alone with

her to say goodbye. We both cried all the way home but we are glad

she is in a better place where she can once again run around and be

the princess she always thought she was. Thank you all for all the

emotional support you extended to us, it somehow seems easier knowing

you understand our pain.

June,

I am so sorry for your loss. I had to put my dog down two years

ago and it was heartbreaking. He had arthritis really bad. He was very

old 14 and a dog of his breed only live till 8 years old. He had become

mean and I couldn't control him. He was biting us and my biggest fear

was my granddaughter would come into the house and startle him, and he

would bite them. I talked to the vet and she told me I was looking at a

law suit at some point. I had no choice, the only thing she told me was

he was very old and in terrible pain. I did what I had to do, but it

didn't make it any easier. I still haven't gotten another dog. These

wonderful animals become such a part of our families. I hope you will

soon feel better. Know we all understand and know how you feel.

Hi Kathi, thank you so much for the lovely poem. I have printed it out to put

beside her picture on my des. Of all the pets we have owned, had the most

unique personality and although the pain lessens, I still think of her every

day. We had a family dinner last weekend and after dinner we sat around and each

person told their favourite thing about . Lots of happy memories.

Thanks for caring and understanding.

Hugs
