Guest guest
Carol It doesn't sound dumb at all to finally have someone acknowledge there is still a problem!! I can completely relate!! I have some heart trouble, just PVC's, but still, it took me a year and 3 different doctors and a multitude of tests to finally have the doctor tell me I wasn't crazy, there really is something going on. Luckily it is not life threatening, just bothersome, but I was pretty much completely ignored for a year by my other doctor because I am too young and have no other risk factors. A month of halter monitor telling the story still wasn't enough for him to acknowledge me!! I started to think maybe I really was crazy and I was just making something out of nothing!! If this doctor is unable to get the insurance to approve it, go to another doctor!! THIS HAS GONE ON LONG ENOUGH!! Hugs Semalee [ ] Tongue Story Dear Group, Wanted to let you know that I think something is happening for the positive! I actually had an appointment with the infectious disease specialist today- he is in charge for the Hyperbaric Treatment for wound healing. 2 weeks ago he said that a tongue did not qualify for treatment. BUT since there is still a big hole in my tongue and no granulation(healing), he met with me today. He was my Dr. for Osteomyelitis and he also diagnosed my Raynauds . We had a very good talk and he believes that the Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment will increase my ability to heal and help heal my tongue and other things. They are now checking with my insurance, etc. ....I will keep you posted. Sure hurts, it is not the diet plan of choice. Guest guest
Carol, I'm so glad you are finally going to get the help you deserve! I'd send the bill to whomever is responsible for botching the job! I know what you mean, whenever a doctor doesn't laugh at me or my weird disease, I get so excited!! Hang in there, many prayers still going out for you, Judi PS--A number of years ago when my husband had surgery on his jaw and was wired shut for 6 weeks, I actually pureed his entire Thanksgiving dinner (including the apple pie!) and he loved it! Guest guest
That's good news, Carol. No, there's nothing dumb about the way you are feeling about this. Did the doctor say that he thought you were infection-free? Did you tell him about your high fever and chills? Are you still off the MTX and Enbrel? I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
Dear & All, Yes I did tell him about everything. I am also weaning off of prednisone and am down to 2 gruelling mg's. The Dr. in the Hyperbaric unit is an infectious disease specialist. He has very good communication skills and I like him alot. He is the one who diagnosed my Raynauds. He is thorough and feels the hyperbaric pressure and pure oxygen treatments should help the healing and much more. He is submitting 15- 1 hr treatments to the insurance. I will keep you posted. I just got back from the sleep dr today - I do have sleep apnea - Dr. said I stop breathing 275 times in one 8 hour sleep night. He would not say if it was due to the tongue surgery or just there. Something new I get to do......I am still taking my temp to make sure there is no residual fever, etc. and am doing good. I must be feeling better, because all of this is starting to make me laugh. Thanks for all you concern and support, Gentle Hugs, Carol M. in CA

Guest guest
Carol, I¹m so glad someone is going to help you get that tongue healed. I cringe when I think of you dealing with such a painful problem. It does not sound dumb at all. I¹d be excited too. I hope he is able to get your insurance issues resolved so you can start treatment immediately. a > Dear Group, > > Wanted to let you know that I think something is happening for the positive! > I actually had an appointment with the infectious disease specialist today- > he is in charge for the Hyperbaric Treatment for wound healing. 2 weeks ago > he said that a tongue did not qualify for treatment.
