Hi,

I only had one dose of humira a few years ago and landed in the hospital with a

potent infection...Who knows if Humira was the causw? I do know that it worked

great as I felt improvement in 1 wk and if needed I would like to try it

again...

Anyway talking about lichen panus (sp?) and goofy immune systems. While on the

Prosorba treatment last month...(with no new mediations or changes) I, as

always, washed my face with dove and used a very mild cream recommended by the

dermatologist. I had used both for 10 yrs, but this time I woke up with my face

burning. I looked into the mirror and my face looked burned and burned at least

2nd degree..and continued to worsen by the hour. This all happened within 24

hrs!!!!!.Long story short and 8! physicians and a trip to Hershey ER.....I was

diagnosed with ERYSIPALIS OF THE FACE...BASICALLY A STREP INFECTION OF THE FACE.

It was so acute that my face started peeling the next day. I was put on heavy

duty penicillin for 2 wks and it eventually healed. But is was so sudden and so

strange as the one deciding factor that it was erysipalis was there was a very

obvious line from one ear to the other, under my chin. Above the line red, hot

filled with fluid and very tight, and below absolutely normal skin...

But leave it to me...I always get something weird...

So our immune systems definitely can be strange!

I have had patients with Lichen Panus. My understanding was it is chronic, like

Psoriasis, with flares and remissions but no cure. Cary
