Guest guest
My arthritis originated in my right elbow. I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis when I was 10 and it was only in my elbow. I can not open my elbow all of the way because of it. Now that I am an adult the RA has gone to my fingers, wrists, feet, ankles and my knees. I feel like it has consumed my entire body. I am unaware of any elbow replacement, while I can't open it all the way, it really isn't that bothersome.. Hope this Helps.. Semalee [ ] elbow arthritis..anyone?? Guest guest
I get it sometimes in my elbow. It used to only be my right elbow but the last weather change caused a flare in my left arm that started in the wrist, jumped to the elbow, and then to the shoulder. I am not sure about replacement, but my guess is that they can do that. > > > Do any of you suffer from RA in your elbows??..I seem to have only > ONE, well, semi-painful, crooked elbow..the other is fine..I have been > un der a rheumy's care since '98, am on mtx (yes, when i remember as > well).. > > Another question I have is this, do you all know if there is an " elbow > replacement " (yahh, am thinking ahead a few yrs in this) for a bad > elbow..and am wondering just how bad the elbow has to be to warrant a > surgery???..I do not mind mine being just a tad bit " crooked " as we > say.. > > > sigh.. > > Lindy > RA sufferer since 8/98...mtx, have been on plaquenil, and all other > assorted nsaids, etc...pain pills,..ya da ya da ya da.. > > Thanks kindlyu\

Guest guest
Lindy, I have RA in one elbow. It started after getting my knees replaced in 1996. I thought I just aggravated it because I had to use my arms so much more after my surgery, but the pain never went away. I know a replacement will be in my future. I feel confidant that they are having good results with elbow replacements. has sent several links that should give you a great deal of information. My elbow doesn¹t straighten anymore, but that is not reason enough to get a replacement. When my elbow is deteriorated and the pain is something I can¹t stand, I¹ll look into it. a > > > Do any of you suffer from RA in your elbows??..I seem to have only > ONE, well, semi-painful, crooked elbow..the other is fine..I have been > un der a rheumy's care since '98, am on mtx (yes, when i remember as > well).. > > Thanks kindlyu\ > > > > > > > > > > >
