Guest guest
Dennis, I always get a copy of my lab results so that I can know what's going on. If I don't know what something is, I look it up (or ask and a, LOL). If something is out of normal range, I question the doctor about it. Why don't you start asking for copies of your lab results? I had anemia, too, from a bleeding ulcer from taking Aleve. Mine didn't get to the point that yours did, though. I did lose some weight without trying. My GP gave me some samples of those purple pills (can't remember the name) and of course I stopped taking Aleve. I also took prescription iron. I was still taking the iron while I was getting radiation treatments following surgery for breast cancer. Radiation usually causes loss of appetite, but I gained my lost weight back while I was having the radiation. So watch out that you don't get fat while taking those iron pills. I hope you feel better soon. Do they know what meds caused the bleeding? Guest guest
Dennis, This is awful. I¹m surprised that this wasn¹t caught before it required hospitalization. No wonder you¹ve been so tired. Hopefully now you¹ll start to feel better. I hope your rheumy doesn¹t let this happen again. I¹m anemic, always have been, but not a severe anemic. I get blood tests every other month and a CBC is always ordered. a > The last time I posted, I was to go to the Rheumy on Thursday but couldn't > get there. Guest guest
dennis.... i take care and over see everything for really nice elderly lady, she is a nursing home now... but anyway, some doctors do not care enough to do a bit of blood work.. she had been staying in bed for weeks saying she did not feel well... i changed her doctor and the new one came in and took one look and said, we should do a blood test, the results came back and he called the nursing home and told them to dial 911, her cbc counts were critically low... she had to have 5 things of blood in the hospital... she has pulled through that and is doing great again... you can not just chalk thing up to being old or in our case having fatigue with RA. i am glad that you are doing better, it will take weeks for your strength to gradually build back.... to better days, rae Re: [ ] A fun week!
