Guest guest
Hi Incredible, they let your anemia get so bad that you had to be hospitalized? you must feel lousy........anemia is such a " normal " side effect of RA that they should always be looking for it....I am once again appalled...I have anemia from the Prosorba treatment and feel sooooooo tired, so I can feel for you...but this will go away now that the treaments are over. Now with your blood, I sure hope you feel better and soon. Joanne What was your hemaglobin, RBC's, hematacrit, if you don't mind sharing? Guest guest
Hi Dennis Having had RA for 20 yrs and working for doctors as long, I picked up a few things here and there and the most import thing is for all of us to take control of our own health and information. An excellent doctor is not threatened by your knowledge and if he is RUN...... In fact, I sincerely believe a good doctor wants an informed patient Anyway every lab has their own " lab nalues " or normal ranges for blood tests. Each time you get blood you can personally get a copy of your blood work. It is your right! so don't feel that it is a favor they are doing you. You will need to sign an AUTHORIZATION TO RELEASE INFORMATION' in order to get a copy of any type of medical test. Here I sign a form which is good for a year and following a test, the lab or x-ray, etc.will either mail a copy to me or email. The blood tests shows your results as well as the normal range of what the results should be. Just to be sure, you can ask them to provide your the normal ranges for their lab as I said, each lab has their own values. Then you can be on top of any medical issue before this happens. Hope this helps Joanne

Guest guest
Dennis, Here is one of many sites which explain the components of a CBC (Complete Blood Count). I have to get a CBC and a liver profile every three months for my rheumy. If you do a Google search, you will find many sites that explain what everything means. http://www.lymphomation.org/CBC-blood-counts.htm It is very important to be a partner with your doctors in your healthcare. Doctors have many patients to keep up with, but we have just one patient to keep up with. I'm glad your RA symptoms are diminished and hope they stay that way. Guest guest
I only knew that I was very tired most of the time. I understand that fatigue is a common side effect of MTX, RA, Fibro, and a couple other meds I've been taking. That's what happens when you trust the Dr and not learn what's happening. I have no idea of any of the test results, except that my red corpuscles were low, below 10, I think. The problem I and probably others don't know what the numbers are or should be. Maybe a little education is in order from those who know.is there a list or chart to give that info? I know I'd be interested. The funny thing is that the RA is greatly diminished all of a sudden. I can make a fist with my right hand, I had real knees for a day or 2, and used a manual can opener with my tight hand to open the industrial size can of fruit. My wrist wouldn't let me do it before. I also don't need as much pain meds so far. Maybe the anemia was keeping the Ra active.??. What do I know...?? Dennis- hoping I stay this way, RA wise Re: [ ] DENNIS! > > > Hi > Incredible, they let your anemia get so bad that you had to be > hospitalized? you must feel lousy........anemia is such a " normal " side > effect of RA that they should always be looking for it....I am once again > appalled...I have anemia from the Prosorba treatment and feel sooooooo > tired, so I can feel for you...but this will go away now that the > treaments are over. > > Now with your blood, I sure hope you feel better and soon. > Joanne What was your hemaglobin, RBC's, hematacrit, if you don't mind > sharing? > Joanne > > > >
