Guest guest
Hair loss is the only side effect I've had from MTX, and it didn't start until I'd been taking MTX for a year. It's not a lot of hair loss, and like I said before my mom was on MTX for 10 years and always had hair loss, but you really couldn't tell from looking at her because it was just thinner than it otherwise had been. My rheumy doubled my folic acid prescription, and after a few weeks that seems to be helping. Snowdrift, I agree with you on side effects. Even getting osteopenia from taking prednisone, while it through me at first, I now realize it's a side effect I can have some control over. I know I would be in much worse shape (considering overall health) without the prednisone. I'm doing what I can to counteract the bone loss with calcium and exercise, and surprise, I'm now even healthier than I was before.
