I'm so glad to hear things went well, Dixie.

Dan's Dr. called. Everything is basically OK. They actually removed

three polyps. There are 3 different kind of polyps: 1 never becomes cancerous,

1 takes years to become cancerous, and 1 is much more aggressive and is the one

to watch for. Dan had one of each type polyp; the 3rd one was pre-cancerous.

So once again, early detection has been the key to good health. He does need to

have a colonoscopy on a regular basis because of the 3rd type polyp.

He also has diverticulosis and hemmorhoids.

He needs to change his diet from the high protein, high fat, high carb

diet he loves so much, and start eating much lower fat, and lots of fruits and

veggies, especially roughage.

Once again, we have been blessed.

Thank you all for your prayers. They are much appreciated.

Love,

Dix

Dixie, what good news! Is there a history of colon cancer in Dan's family? My

grandfather died of

colon cancer, my uncle found his early enough and surgery to remove the polyps

was successful. I

had colon surgery (due to diverticulitis) when I was 42 to remove 2 ft. of my

colon because the

polyps were too numerous to remove. I didn't realize how ill I was until I

recovered from the

surgery and felt so wonderful. I know that the tests are no fun but they can

save your life. I

urge everyone to include tests to detect colon cancer in their routine physicals

after 40. Iris
