Guest guest
I just thought I'd share some of the things I do to try to make my eating choices better. I keep those 4 oz. dixie cups right near the fridge. I have a child so my home can't be completely junk or sugar free. I used to LOVE JUICE apple and orange - drank some every day. Well I have cut out OJ but I keep apple around. Whenever I get the hunkering for the taste of juice - I grap the dixie cup. Fill 1/2 with apple juice and 1/2 with cold water out the fridge. This extra step greatly dilutes the apple juice and allows me to have taste. My sugars never go up above 10 points. I also keep canned tomatoes around. I used to love gravy's with my chicken. Now I just pour a can of diced tomatoes on it instead, give it flavor and doesn't do anything to my sugars. I also keep a 1/3 measuring cup in the center of the stove 1/3 cup of anything has never killed anyone, lol. So I use that to measure any incriminating carbs. I also have a 24 oz. cup that I use at dinner. I drink 1 of those full of water and it greatly reduces the chances that I'll go back for seconds. Tonite I had 1/2 cup rice, 2 baked chicken wings with diced tomatoes, and about a cup of sauteed yellow squash (in marj) and onions and a diet Faygo Red Soda Pop with 1 teaspoon of splenda to cut the diet taste. I was 102 BG before dinner and 112 BG after dinner and i " m full. I also made homemade icecream for Labor Day - Vanilla. It only called for 1/3 cup sugar. I used half and half instead of heavy cream and I ate 1/2 cup with 1 squirt of hershey's chocolate last nite and my sugars were 115. God is good he gave me something that won't kill me outright, lol. Now who knows tomorrow it might send it sky high. Okay I " m drifting....lol lol
