Guest guest
The upper arm pain I get from time to time is like a spasm when I raise my arm. I have to stop and hold my breath for a few seconds until it passes. I originally thought it was a rotator cuff injury -- that's exactly what it feels like --but it's happened probably 4 or 5 times in the last year or so. Each episode lasts from a couple of days to maybe a week. Then it gets better, just like an injury. My doctor thinks this is part of the palindromic rheumatism I have in addition to the RA. With PR, you get intense, spasm-type pain in a joint (or sometimes a muscle) for just a few days at a time. I've had this kind of flareup in all kinds of weird places, like my jaw and my collar bone. > In a message dated 22/07/2004 16:45:01 Central Standard Time, > liltlmoo@y... writes: > > > > does anyone experience pain in your upper arm where you cant lift > > them and if you do you cant put them back down without the > > excrusiating pain > > > > Sounds like rotator cuff problems...also known as shoulder impingement > syndrome. Guest guest
It could be any number of things, probably best to talk with your doctor, though. Mine is caused by chronic tendonitis due to my particular rare autoimmune condition (it causes fatty tumors to grow in my upper arms.) Hope you get some relief!
