Guest guest
Hi Everyone My doc's office just called with results. Basically, my uterus is fine, however my ovaries are whacked. The left one has lots of follicles, but they don't seem solid or abnormal. the right one has a small follicle that they want to recheck because the eco did not bounce back meaning it could be solid or could be endometrial tissue. So I have to go back in 6 weeks to " recheck " to see if this has corrected itself. My guess is 6 weeks isn't gonna cut it because since i went on the WP (June 2007-Nov 2007) then off the WP, my period hasn't been normal...well... not as on time as usual. Prior to that, i was every 28 days. both on and off the BC pill. I asked what could have caused this: 18 years birth control or the WP an she said either. Especially for the left ovary since when you see lots of follicles, it could be confused...and being on the pill for 18 years (putting your ovaries to sleep) and then going off could confuse it. She seemed more worried about the right ovary. I have absolutely NO experience with this stuff. And frankly, I'm scared. My gut feeling says it was the WP that caused this and not the BC pill. I even asked if going back on the BC pill would treat this and she said likely it would since it would put my ovaries back to sleep. I'm so tempted but know the cons of progestins. so not likely i would go that route unless i was facing some other decision. Can anyone offer any type of input of what I should expect or if they had similar experience? I'm a little freaked out. My husband just left for Asia today and could use some sound comfort or opinion. Here's the kicker. the WP doctor i fired recommended the ultra sound due to the high levels of WP hormones...when i left her and found my new doc I asked for it from her because my periods were suddenly messed up. she agreed. I'm glad i did. Thanks.
