Guest guest
Thanks ! I fit into so many categories, I'm not sure what it is. I just wait until my husband starts snoring (which isn't long!) and go turn up the AC, nd only sleep with a sheet with my feet sticking out! Guest guest
Thanks . I was going to mention to Dixie - that is probably not good to just presume the cause of her night sweats. could something as " simple " as hormone changes during menopause or could be related to fibro or could be somethinthing as serious as a symptom of lymphoma - something people with RA are at higher risk for. Best to get checked out and mentioned to her doc. It is so easy to self diagnose - have done it alot myself- but not always with good results. Hugs to you both. > American Family Physician > " Diagnosing Night Sweats " : > > http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030301/1019.html > > > > > I'll tell you where to go! > > Mayo Clinic in Rochester > http://www.mayoclinic.org/rochester > > s Hopkins Medicine > http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org > > > > >
Guest guest
I agree, . It's always best to report new developments or concerns to one's physician. I'll tell you where to go! Guest guest
, I couldn't agree with you more. The problem is that none of the blood tests he's done indicate thyroid or other problems - and I'm past menopause. There are several possibilities, from HRT to fibro to a reaction to meds, and there really isn't any way to check those out unless I stop meds one at a time for several weeks. So he's decided since it doesn't appear to be caused by anything serious to try to treat the symptom, since he really doesn't want me to have to go off anti-depressants or pain meds for several weeks. Right now, he has me keeping a log of when the night sweats are bad, and if I've been in more pain, fibro has been worse, etc. We're going to try this for a couple months. I'm also supposed to record the temperature and humidity that day in case it's related to the weather - I'm very reactive to weather. But I thought I'd write the group about it anyway just to see if other had the same problem and knew what was causing it. I realize we're all different, and that what causes night sweats for others may not be what causes them for me, but thought it might help point out the more common causes and the less common ones. And I thank every one who's shared their experiences. Dix Re: [ ] Diagnosing Night Sweats Thanks .
