,I am trying to get it down to once every two weeks; sometimes I make it. I

would love to have

menopause go totally away! My mother suffered with hot flashes for about 5

years. I know that

there is a lot of conflicting information about taking hormones and I plan on

discussing these

with my doc tomorrow. Over the past year, I have noticed that my hair, nails, and

skin are drier

and I believe that is caused by diminishing hormones. When I set up the appt. I

told the

receptionist that I hadn't seen him in a while and that I didn't want him to

rush because it will

be more than a 15 minute visit. I think that I have become my mother...I made a

list to take with

me to the doc. I need to decide whether to go back to having a rheumy while

seeing the GP for pain

control. Since my doc is a very good GP, he has a lot of patients and two PA's.

Since I now have

insurance, this week I am seeing the GP (who will have to give me several

referrals), the dentist

(to replace my bridge), and the eye doctor. I still need to schedule my

mammogram. I am going to

get another series of synvisc (it is probably the other that begins with an

h)which means I may

have to wait awhile to see the ortho. I am still trying to decide whether I

should go ahead and

have the knee replacement before more bone damage occurs or keep having the

shots. My doc is

probably going to send me on to the neck surgeon because the numbness in my

hands is present at

all times now. The question is...is it carpal tunnel or the pinched nerve in my

neck; or both. I

know that you have forwarded articles about immune system diseases and the eyes

and I wonder if

they have anything to do with the degeneration of my sight and the thinning of

the back of my eyes

that the doc noticed last time. I can't wait to get a new pair of glasses. I

didn't intend on

asking you more questions and making such a long reply. Thanks for being there,

! School

starts on the 24th! !! Iris

What happened at your appointment today, Iris?

How is your thyroid doing?

Have you seen an ophthalmologist? What was the diagnosis for the

deterioration of your vision and " thinning " at the back of your eyes?

I'll post a couple of articles.

I can't believe it's August. I get a bit sad when I think of the kids

going back to school. We really enjoy these unstructured, peaceful days.

I'll tell you where to go!
