One more reading recommendation. I love Barbara Kingsolver's books of

essays. They're found in the fiction section for some reason, but truly are not.

I've not yet read her latest book, but her book " Small Wonders " is great. I

laughed and cried reading it. If you want to read a great excerpt from that

book, it's called " Fist in the Eye of God. " I first read it a few years ago,

and it truly changed my purchasing habits to much more organic,

You can download that essay here:

Not much comment on the religious aspect she writes about at the end of this

essay, but the info on Monsanto and seeds in 3rd world countries is well

worth the read.

Thanks for this post. I have followed Kingsolver's books for years and somehow

lost track of her. I'm not sure about reading essays, but maybe I'll give it a

try. The last one I read was either the Prodical Summer or Pigs Dream. It's

been so long ago I can't recall. D

If you enjoy her writing style, read " Animal, Vegetable, Miracle. " A very

good read about living as close to the land as possible (being a
